Immediately after having graduated from the "Conseratoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris" and having won first prize in the class of Jean-Pierre Rampal, Thomas Prevost was engaged as first principal flute for the French philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France. This position was offered to him just after having been offered by Pierre Boulez the first chir of the Ensemble intercontemporainn.

A prize-winner of the International competition of Montreux, Thomas Prevost began a carrer ats solist and has performed with the Frence Philharmonic orchestra, the Suiss Romande and Monte-Calro Orchestras amont others. Asa chamber music player, he has worked with such artists as Lily Laskine, Peter Schreir and Raphael Puyana.

He was invited by the Chatelet Theater in Paris to participate in a Brahms/Schoenberg cycle with Yo Yo Ma and Emanuel Ax. In September of 2001, he was among the soloists recording cheamber music or Deutsche Grammophon with conductor Myung Whun Chung.
